COURSE INFORMATION

Each live class lasts one and a half hours including a Q&A session. Each module is connected chronologically but may be taken as a stand-alone for those interested in a particular period of Irish history. Students will be able to select any or all modules on offer.

The live courses will be presented using PowerPoint on Zoom.

Students will receive a copy of each presentation, usually before the scheduled class.

This course explores the events leading to the Flight of the Earls which represents the final defeat for the 3,000 year old Celtic society in Ireland. The Flight of the Earls followed the defeat of Irish forces in the Nine Year War or Tyrone's Rebellion and led to the Plantation of Ulster.
