About the Event

Saint Patrick is the person most associated with Ireland. He is the primary Patron saint of Ireland and is recognized as having played a major role in the Christianization of Ireland.

There are many myths and legends associated with Patrick. This talk will look at the historical record based on available facts and accepted understandings.

Patrick was kidnapped in Britain by Irish slave traders and taken to Ireland as a slave at age sixteen. He escaped after six years. He returned to Ireland as a bishop in his forties and spent twenty five years ministering to the existing Christian community in Ireland and converting many of the indigenous Irish to Christianity.
